On day 11, we visited the Rookery. This gem is tucked away in Chesterland but houses some of the most interesting sites and sounds. The main trail follows what used to be the Interurban Railroad, an electric street car system that connected Cleveland to rural towns such as Chardon and Middlefield from 1899 to 1925. Also, because of the time of year and time of day we visited this park, the spring peepers (frogs) were very active and loud! I think this park may have been a first for both of us!
